Evolutionary Research in Vienna

About evolVienna

With more than 50 research groups, covering a large range of subjects from molecular evolution to organismal behavior and ecology, Vienna is a hot spot of evolutionary research. evolVienna provides the communication platform for the groups distributed over several universities and research institutes, and serves as a guide for students and visitors to our people, locations, research fields, courses, and open positions.

Currently, the evolVienna initiative consists of three elements:

  • an e-mailing list (evolvienna@googlegroups.com) and a google group page for quick internal information sharing
  • a bi-annual meeting (spring and fall) that rotates among the member institutions
  • the evolVienna webpage

Join evolVienna

New faculty and students who are interested to be added to the e-mailing list should write an email to Petra Laszlo with a brief description of their function and affiliation (i.e. member of which group).

New faculty and group leaders who want to be added to the evolVienna webpage should write to Joachim Hermisson.

Add information to evolVienna

For posting news, events, courses and for any other changes or additions to positions, people, locations, research, contact one of the administrators: Michael Dorninger or Julia Hosp

To post a new event, write an email to Michael or Julia with all relevant information. E.g., for a seminar talk: Name of Speaker; Affiliation; Title; Date and Time; Location; Name of Seminar Series (such as Darwin Lectures), if appropriate. An abstract and any additional information can also be provided.

Note that events on the webpage are *not* automatically posted to the e-mailing list, and vice-versa. However, a single email to the evolVienna google group with a cc to Michael or Julia will take care of both.
