PhD position in molecular evolution of skin appendages (Medical Univ. of Vienna)

PhD student position is available in the project “Molecular evolution of skin appendages” at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. The project is supported by the Austrian Science Fund, FWF (Project P 36596). PhD students will receive a monthly salary according to the regulations of the Austrian Science Fund.

Our aim is to identify evolutionarily conserved mechanisms which control the growth of cornified skin appendages, such as claws and hair. The results will have significant implications on the evolutionary biology of terrestrial vertebrates. 

We invite applications from highly motivated students with a thorough understanding of molecular biology.

Requirements: 
MSc in biology, genetics, or biochemistry
Enthusiam for science 
Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary team
