Practical Course

Genomic approaches to variation and adaptation (Paun/Swarts)

Course Academic Credits: 5 ECTS
Content:
Population genomics and genome evolution from next-generation sequencing data, such as whole-genome sequencing, target capture, RAD sequencing and transcriptomics. We will exemplify genomic investigation procedures to trace natural selection, genetic ancestry, function, structure and gene-environment interactions, starting with introducing basic omic approaches, such as de novo assembly and mapping. Attendance of the complementary lecture VO300127 is highly recommended. Students that have taken this lecture and have also passed the exam will be given priority for this complementary practical.
